An Act To Ban Smoking on Public Beaches and in Public Parks
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §1580-E is enacted to read:
§ 1580-E. Smoking on public beaches and in public parks
1. Smoking prohibited. A person may not smoke tobacco or any other substance on a public beach or in a public park.
2. Smoking defined. "Smoking" means carrying or having in one's possession a lighted cigarette, cigar or pipe, or other object used for a similar purpose, giving off or containing any substance giving off smoke.
