Amend the resolve in section 4 in the 5th line (page 1, line 16 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "construction" and inserting the following: 'design, construction, installation and maintenance'
Amend the resolve in section 4 in the 6th line (page 1, line 17 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "authorized." and inserting the following: 'authorized; and be it further'
Amend the resolve by inserting after section 4 the following:
‘Sec. 5. Account established. Resolved: That the Director of the Bureau of General Services within the Department of Administrative and Financial Services shall establish an account to administer state and local funds, gifts and other contributions under section 4 pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 153 or as otherwise approved by the Director of the Bureau of General Services.’
summary
This amendment clarifies that no General Fund money may be used for design, construction, installation and maintenance of the memorial for families and friends of children who have died by violence. It also directs the Director of the Bureau of General Services within the Department of Administrative and Financial Services to establish an account for the administration of funds, gifts and other contributions accepted by the Capitol Planning Commission for the memorial.
