An Act To Amend the Length Limits on Fish Caught on the Inland Waters
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §12451, sub-§4 is enacted to read:
4. Length limits. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a length limit established by the commissioner by rule for the taking of a species of fish from an inland body of water must be the same during the open-water fishing season and when waters have been opened for ice fishing by the commissioner for that species and body of water.
SUMMARY
This bill requires that length limits established for fish taken from any inland body of water of the State are the same during the open-water fishing season and when waters have been opened for ice fishing by the commissioner for that body of water.
