This act requires
that individuals with aquaculture
leases on which molluscan bivalve shellfish is grown must hold a harvester
license in order to remove, possess, transport and sell cultured shellfish. By Department of Marine Resources policy
such indiviuals are already encouraged to hold this license and, according to
the Department, most do. Therefore,
any potential revenue increase associated with license fees would be
minimal.
