This legislation
adds certain training and certification requirements for owners and operators
of underground oil storage tanks. The
United States Environmental Protection Agency has awarded the Department of
Environmental Protection a federal grant of $188,000 to implement this
program. The Department of
Environmental Protection will use approximately $21,000 of the federal grant
for personal services by allowing current staff paid by the Groundwater Oil
Clean-Up Fund to journal the cost of time spent on this project to the
grant. The remainder of the grant will
be used for contractual services and other miscellaneous expenses. |
