This legislation
establishes an At-risk youth program within the Juvenile court to address
punishment and proactive treatment of at-risk youth. It is estimated that this program may
require significant General Fund appropriations in excess of $5,000,000
annually to provide funds for additional judges, support staff, community
therapeutic services, case management, security, office expenses and other
general operating costs. Once the
design of this program is more defined,
the fiscal impact associated with the number of youth to be served and
the types of services that will be necessary will be forthcoming. |
