This legislation
establishes an Alternatives Fuel Incentive Fund to be administered by the
Department of Environmental Protection.
The Fund will derive its dedicated revenue from an annual assessment
on public utilities and competitive energy providers in an amount up to
$3,000,000 annually. Proceeds from the
Fund would pay for a grant program as well as a hybrid vehicle rebate
program. The bill will require
allocations of $2,250,000 in fiscal year 2007-08 and $3,000,000 annually
thereafter to provide funds for one Environmental Specialist II position, a
grants program and a hybrid vehicle rebate program. |
