general operating expenses of this commission are projected to be $4,930 in
fiscal year 2007-08. The Legislature's
proposed budget includes $30,000 in fiscal year 2007-08 for legislative
studies. Whether the amounts are
sufficient to fund all studies will depend on the number of studies
authorized by the Legislative Council and the Legislature.

Additional costs
to the Maine State Retirement System to serve on the Commission can be
absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
If actuarial services are required as part of the work of the
