This
bill includes General Fund appropriations totaling $2,825,008 in fiscal year
2007-08 and $2,832,117 in fiscal year 2008-09 to the Maine State Library to
support essential library resources to all communities in Maine. |
|
These
appropriations include $125,008 and $132,117 in fiscal years 2007-08 and
2008-09, respectively, for one Librarian II position and one Librarian III
position to provide ongoing training for Minerva consortium member libraries
as well as to manage and train staff in ensuring database quality and
cataloguing standards. These
appropriations also include $2,700,000 per year beginning in fiscal year
2007-08 to be used as grants to improve library collections, to support
interlibrary deliveries, to digitize materials for preservation and statewide
access and to improve area reference and resource centers. |
