This amendment
will require the Public Utilities Commission to negotiate an amendment to the
2006-2011 contract to equip Waterville, Augusta and the Kennebec County
Sheriff's Office as additional public safety answering points (PSAPs) in
Kennebec County until final consolidation is implemented in October of
2008. The incremental increase from
this amendment is $272,355 annually beginning in fiscal year 2007-08. As amended, the bill includes an Other
Special Revenue Funds allocation to the Emergency Services Communication
Bureau within the Public Utilities Commission of $390,855 annually beginning
in fiscal year 2007-08 to provide funds to equip these additional PSAPs. |
