The Department of
Environmental Protection has indicated it will search for an on-site source
of contamination, clean up the contaminated soil to the extent practical and
ensure that an adequate supply of clean drinking water is provided. It is assumed that this will be
accomplished by installing a filter to remove contaminants from the existing
well water or drilling a new well. The
department would not need to purchase the property since it is confident the
property owners can be provided with clean water. |
