The requirement that a superintendent notify all parents and guardians of students enrolled in the same school as an adjudicated juvenile whose crime, if committed by an adult, would be gross sexual assault represents a state mandate pursuant to the Constitution of Maine. The cost to individual school units will depend on the number of adjudicated juveniles and the type of notice required. Requiring law enforcement agencies to inform school superintendents of information related to certain registrants is also a mandate. | School County Municipality |
