||||||
Fiscal Detail and Notes
Requiring that certain minimum wages be the higher of state or federal rates will either increase annual Highway Fund and Federal Expenditures Fund costs to the Department of Transportation by a maximum estimated annual amount of $2,100,000 and $8,400,000, respectively, beginning in fiscal year 2007-08 or highway construction projects will need to be deferred or delayed to compensate for the higher minimum wages. In addition, the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management is likely to incur additional General Fund costs for increased labor rates paid for certain department projects. The amounts cannot be determined at this time.
Additional costs to the Bureau of Labor Standards within the Department of Labor can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
