|
Requiring the
regional adjustment to the salary and benefits costs of teachers and other
school personnel that is based on labor market areas in the State to be 1.0
beginning in fiscal year 2007-08 will not affect the General Fund
appropriation needed to fund the State's share of General Purpose Aid for
Local Schools in fiscal year 2007-08 or in future years. However, this requirement will change the
distribution of state subsidy among local school administrative units
beginning in fiscal year 2007-08.
Although the impact to individual school units can not be determined
at this time, those local units with a regional adjustment component that is
currently greater than 1.0 will receive less subsidy and those local units
with a regional adjustment component that is currently less than 1.0 will
receive more subsidy. |
