These changes to
the meals and lodging tax will increase General Fund revenue by an estimated
$13,579,135 in fiscal year 2007-08 and $23,971,767 in fiscal year
2008-09. Maine Revenue Services will
also require General Fund appropriations to support the administrative costs,
including the cost of one Management Analyst I position. Those costs are estimated to be $122,874 in
fiscal year 2007-08 and $69,982 in fiscal year 2008-09. The table below summarizes the anticipated
increase in Other Special Revenue Funds. |
