Changes to the manner in which local assessors value property within a municipality could impose a significant expansion of assessment duties that would require additional local expenditures.  The amounts cannot be determined without clarification of the type of review the bill is requiring.

Legislative Study

The general operating expenses of this study are projected to be $4,530 in fiscal year 2007-08.  The Legislature's proposed budget includes $30,000 in fiscal year 2007-08 for legislative studies.  Whether the amounts are sufficient to fund all studies will depend on the number of studies authorized by the Legislative Council and the Legislature.
