Amend the amendment by inserting after the title the following:
Amend the resolve by striking out all of the emergency preamble (page 1, lines 1 to 12 in L.D.)
’Amend the amendment in section 1 in the last line (page 1, line 22 in amendment) by striking out the following: "paid." and inserting the following: 'paid; and be it further'
Amend the amendment by inserting after section 1 the following:
‘Sec. 2. Transfer from General Fund to Highway Fund. Resolved: That, notwithstanding the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 142, the State Controller shall transfer $4,357,500 no later than July 31, 2008 and $2,905,000 no later than June 30, 2009 from the General Fund to the Highway Fund to offset the Highway Fund revenue reduction in this resolve.
Amend the resolve by striking out all of the emergency clause (page 1, lines 22 and 23 in L.D.)
’summary
This amendment provides funding for the refunds from the General Fund. It also removes the emergency preamble and clause.
