Amend the bill by inserting before the enacting clause the following:
‘ Mandate preamble. This measure requires one or more local units of government to expand or modify activities so as to necessitate additional expenditures from local revenues but does not provide funding for at least 90% of those expenditures. Pursuant to the Constitution of Maine, Article IX, Section 21, 2/3 of all of the members elected to each House have determined it necessary to enact this measure.’
Amend the bill in section 1 in the first line (page 1, line 5 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " 50" and inserting the following: ' 33'
Amend the bill in section 1 in the 2nd line (page 1, line 6 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " 25" and inserting the following: ' 16.5'
summary
This amendment changes the width of the road to be added to the territory contained in the charter of Lucerne-in-Maine from 50 feet in width to 33 feet and 16.5 feet on each side of the centerline rather than 25 feet. It also adds a mandate preamble.
