Amend the bill by inserting after the enacting clause and before section 1 the following:

Amend the bill by inserting after section 11 the following:

‘Sec. B-1. Extension of deadlines. Notwithstanding Public Law 2007, chapter 240, Part XXXX or any other provision of law or rule to the contrary, a regional planning committee established in accordance with Public Law 2007, chapter 240, Part XXXX may request, and the Commissioner of Education shall grant, an extension of up to 6 months on:
1. The deadline for submission of a completed proposed reorganization plan; and
2. The deadlines for any additional tasks whose deadlines are linked to the submission of the completed proposed reorganization plan.’
Amend the bill by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment requires that, at the request of a regional planning committee, the Commissioner of Education grant an extension of up to 6 months on the deadlines for submission of a completed proposed reorganization plan and for any additional tasks whose deadlines are linked to the submission of the completed proposed reorganization plan.
