An Act To Govern Publicly Funded Advertising during Campaigns
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 21-A MRSA §1014, sub-§6 is enacted to read:
6. Publicly funded advertising. A candidate may not appear in any television, radio or newspaper advertisement that is paid for by public funds, other than with disbursements from the Maine Clean Election Fund, during the 6 months preceding a primary or general election in which the candidate is running.

This bill prohibits any candidate for public office from appearing in any television, radio or newspaper advertisement that is paid for by public funds, other than with disbursements from the Maine Clean Election Fund, during the 6 months preceding a primary or general election in which he or she is a candidate.
