Resolve, To Provide a Comprehensive Assessment of Progress Made To Eliminate Combined Sewer Overflow into the State's Waterways
Sec. 1. Governor to appoint panel to assess combined sewer overflow. Resolved: That the Governor shall appoint an independent expert panel to draft a report assessing the status of efforts to eliminate combined sewer overflow in the State. The assessment must include public health risks, economic loss due to clam flat closure, municipal project coordination, management, technology and financing. The report must analyze progress made to date and recommend state initiatives to assist communities to meet the cost of eliminating combined sewer overflow in a more expedient manner; and be it further
Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That, no later than January 15, 2008, the independent expert panel created in section 1 shall submit its report along with any recommended legislation to the Joint Standing Committee on Natural Resources. The Joint Standing Committee on Natural Resources may submit legislation related to the report to the Second Regular Session of the 123rd Legislature.
