An Act To Establish a Complimentary Moose Permit Drawing for 100% Disabled Veterans
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §10853, sub-§14 is enacted to read:
Each application must be accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the applicant meets the requirements of this subsection. A person issued a complimentary moose hunting permit under this subsection is subject to all applicable laws and rules adopted pursuant to this Part.
The commissioner shall determine the number of moose hunting permits issued under this subsection but the number issued may not exceed 2% of the total moose hunting permits issued annually pursuant to section 11551.
SUMMARY
This bill establishes a special complimentary moose permit drawing for resident veterans who are 100% disabled and served in a combat zone. It authorizes the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to determine the number of permits to be allotted for the special drawing but limits the number to no more than 2% of the total number of permits issued annually during the regular moose permit drawing.
