An Act To Increase Compliance with Truck Weight Limits
Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §2358-A is enacted to read:
§ 2358-A. Weighing of commercial motor vehicles
A commercial motor vehicle transporting a load must be weighed at its initial point of departure or at a weighing point as designated by the Chief of the State Police in accordance with section 2358. The initial weight of a commercial motor vehicle transporting a load must be recorded and submitted to the Department of Public Safety, Bureau of State Police. The Commissioner of Public Safety may adopt rules necessary to implement this section. Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.
