An Act To Extend Term Limits for the House of Representatives
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 21-A MRSA §553, sub-§2, as enacted by IB 1993, c. 1, §1 and affected by §2, is amended to read:
2. State Representative. A person may not serve more than 4 5 consecutive terms as a member of the state House of Representatives.
Sec. 2. Application. This Act applies only for a member of the House of Representatives who is elected to a first term in or after 2008.
