Amend the amendment by inserting after the title the following:
Amend the resolve by striking out the title and substituting the following:
‘Resolve, Concerning Public Safety Answering Points in the State
Amend the amendment by inserting before section 2 the following:
‘Sec. 2. Retention of equipment. Resolved: That, notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, municipalities that have invested in the acquisition of public safety answering point equipment, or have invested in accommodating the installation of or supporting public safety answering point equipment, may retain that equipment if the public safety answering point located within that municipality was closed in accordance with the reduction of public safety answering points pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 25, section 2926, subsection 2-A; and be it further’
Amend the amendment by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment provides that municipalities that have invested in the acquisition of public safety answering point equipment, or have invested in accommodating the installation of public safety answering point equipment, may retain that equipment if the public safety answering point located within that municipality was closed in accordance with the reduction of public safety answering points required by the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 25, section 2926, subsection 2-A.
