An Act To Require Utilities and Competitive Service Providers To Pay Interest on Overestimates of Electric Power Bills
Sec. 1. 35-A MRSA §3105 is enacted to read:
§ 3105. Interest on overestimated usage
The commission shall, by rule, require transmission and distribution utilities and competitive service providers that overestimate electric power usage for customer billing purposes to pay the customer accrued interest of 5% on the difference between the amount billed for actual usage and the amount billed for any overestimated usage. Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined by Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.
