An Act To Amend the Maine Tree Growth Tax Law
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §584-B is enacted to read:
§ 584-B. Traditional uses
A parcel of land 500 acres or larger that is taxed pursuant to this subchapter must be open to the public for traditional uses. For purposes of this section, "traditional uses" includes, but is not limited to, hunting, fishing, trapping, snowmobiling and hiking.
SUMMARY
This bill provides that a parcel of land 500 acres or larger that is taxed pursuant to the Maine Tree Growth Tax Law must be open to the public for traditional uses, including, but not limited to, hunting, fishing, trapping, snowmobiling and hiking.
