Resolve, To Study the Enactment Procedures for Municipal Ordinances
Sec. 1. Study of municipal ordinance enactment procedures. Resolved: That the Executive Department, State Planning Office, referred to in this resolve as "the office," shall convene a working group to study and reform the laws governing the enactment procedures for municipal ordinances. The office shall invite the participation of all interested parties. The office shall report the findings, recommendations and implementing legislation of the working group to the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government no later than January 15, 2008. The Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government may submit a bill to the Second Regular Session of the 123rd Legislature implementing the recommendations of the working group regarding changes to municipal ordinance enactment procedures.
