HP1173, LD 1664, item 2 , ‘An Act To Exempt Vegetable Seeds from the Sales Tax’

Amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting the following:

‘An Act To Exempt Vegetable Seeds from the Sales Tax’

Amend the bill by striking out all of section 1 and inserting the following:

‘Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §1760, sub-§7-D is enacted to read:

7-D. Vegetable seeds used for noncommercial production of certain crops. Sales of vegetable seeds for noncommercial production of agricultural crops intended for human consumption.’

summary

This amendment eliminates from the bill the proposed sales tax exemption for fertilizer used in the noncommercial production of food crops.
