Resolve, Directing the Establishment of a Building Contractor's License and Education Requirements for Code Enforcement Officers
Sec. 1. Development of licensing requirements. Resolved: That the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation shall propose and develop licensing requirements for building contractors. No later than December 1, 2007, the department shall submit its proposal, together with any necessary implementing legislation, to the Joint Standing Committee on Business, Research and Economic Development. After receipt and review of the proposal, the committee may submit legislation to implement the proposal to the Second Regular Session of the 123rd Legislature; and be it further

Resolved: That the Executive Department, State Planning Office shall propose and develop revised training and certification requirements and continuing education requirements for code enforcement officers. No later than December 1, 2007, the State Planning Office shall submit its proposal, together with any necessary implementing legislation, to the Joint Standing Committee on Business, Research and Economic Development. After receipt and review of the proposal, the committee may submit legislation to implement the proposal to the Second Regular Session of the 123rd Legislature.
