An Act To Limit the Duration of the Placement of Campaign Signs
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 23 MRSA §1913-A, sub-§1, ¶H, as amended by PL 1999, c. 152, Pt. G, §2, is further amended to read:
H. Signs bearing political messages relating to an election, primary or referendum, provided except that these signs may not be placed within the right-of-way prior to 6 weeks 15 days before the election, primary or referendum to which they relate and must be removed by the candidate or political committee not later than one week thereafter; and

This bill amends the time a political sign may be placed within a right-of-way from within 6 weeks before an election to within 15 days before an election.
