‘Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §12757-A is enacted to read:
§ 12757-A. Stocking splake
The commissioner may not stock or issue a permit to stock splake in a water that drains into or out of wild brook trout waters that are listed in the department rules.’

Amend the bill by striking out all of section 1 and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §12757-A is enacted to read:
§ 12757-A. Stocking splake
The commissioner may not stock or issue a permit to stock splake in a water that drains into or out of wild brook trout waters that are listed in the department rules.’
Amend the bill in section 2 in the 2nd line (page 1, line 13 in L.D.) by inserting after the following: "stocking" the following: 'and make that list available to the public no later than December 1, 2007'

This amendment prohibits the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife from stocking splake or issuing a permit to stock splake in waters that run into or out of wild brook trout waters. The amendment provides that the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife must have the list of waters suitable for splake stocking available to the public no later than December 1, 2007.
