An Act To Delay Implementation of Motor Vehicle Inspection Rules until Inspectors Have Rules in Hand for 5 Days
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §1769, sub-§1-A is enacted to read:
1-A. Effective date of rule. An inspection mechanic certified under section 1761 or an official inspection station licensed under section 1762 is not required to enforce a rule adopted pursuant to subsection 1 for 5 days after receiving a copy of the rule. A rule is deemed to be received 3 business days after the rule was sent by first class mail.
Sec. 2. Retroactivity. This Act applies retroactively to December 15, 2006.
