Amend the bill in section 1 in §333-A by striking out all of subsection 1 (page 1, lines 10 to 13 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

1 Local governing authority approval.   An organization that intends to apply for a tournament game license must first receive approval by the local governing authority where the games are to be conducted. Proof of approval from the local governing authority must be provided to the Chief of the State Police upon application for a tournament game license.

Amend the bill in section 1 in §333-A in subsection 6 by striking out all of paragraph A (page 2, line 1 in L.D.)

Amend the bill in section 1 in §333-A in subsection 6 in paragraph C in the first line (page 2, line 3 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " Forty" and inserting the following: ' Sixty'

Amend the bill in section 1 in §333-A in subsection 6 by relettering the paragraphs to read consecutively.

Amend the bill by inserting after section 1 the following:

Sec. 2. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.

PUBLIC SAFETY, DEPARTMENT OF

Licensing and Enforcement - Public Safety 0712

Initiative: Allocates funds for one additional Public Safety Inspector I position, one additional State Police Detective position, one additional Office Assistant position and operating costs necessary to enforce the regulation of tournament games.

summary

This amendment removes the reference to municipal approval and replaces it with local governing authority approval in reference to the requirements to be met before the Chief of the State Police will consider an application for a tournament game license. This amendment also removes the River Valley Technology Center as a recipient of surplus fees from tournament game licenses. Under this amendment the 20% that would have gone to the River Valley Technology Center will be credited to the General Fund.
