An Act To Exempt Certain Vehicles from the California Low-emission Vehicle Standards

Sec. 1. 38 MRSA §585-D,  as amended by PL 2005, c. 245, §1, is further amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read:

A vehicle that has a manufacturer's estimated highway mileage rating of at least 40 miles per gallon is not subject to the California low-emission vehicle standards relating to the control of emissions from new motor vehicles or new motor vehicle engines as adopted by the board but must meet the federal standards relating to the control of emissions from new motor vehicles or new motor vehicle engines.
