An Act To Create a Regional Jail System

CONCEPT DRAFT SUMMARY

This bill is a concept draft pursuant to Joint Rule 208.

This bill proposes to require county governments to create regional jails and to share the costs of building and maintaining those regional jails. Existing county jails would be used to hold persons prior to conviction.
