Resolve, Prohibiting the Use of Carpeting in Schools
Sec. 1. Department of Education to prohibit the use of carpeting in schools. Resolved: That the Department of Education shall adopt rules prohibiting carpeting as flooring in newly constructed school facilities and mandating that all renovations of existing school facilities replace floor coverings with flooring other than carpet. Rules adopted under this section are major substantive rules pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.
