The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

|
This
amendment authorizes the transfer of $1,000,000 from the Maine Budget
Stabilization Fund to the unappropriated surplus of the General Fund in
fiscal year 2006-07. The amendment
also includes a General Fund appropriation of $1,000,000 in fiscal year
2006-07 to the Maine Emergency Management Agency within the Department of
Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management for the purpose of moving the
village of Canton from the flood plain. |
