Allowing
certain participating local district (PLD) employees who become employed by
the Department of Public Safety as a result of the consolidation of public
safety dispatching services to elect to include the previously earned PLD
service credit with service earned as a State employee may result in
increased costs to the State. The
amount can not be determined at this time.
Because there are significant differences between the PLD regular plan
and the State employee regular plan, the impact and cost of this portability
provision will vary by individual member.
The actual cost of this measure will depend on which specific
employees elect to have their previously earned service credit included with
service credit earned as a state employee. |
