Suspending
the assessment of certain civil penalties to the Maine Guaranty Association
until April 1, 2007 may decrease the amount of revenue received by the
Workers' Compensation Board from civil penalties assessed on the Maine
Insurance Guaranty Association. The
amount can not be determined at this time. |

|
As
amended, the additional costs to the Workers' Compensation Board associated
with the auditing, enforcement and monitoring of the Maine Guaranty
Association and presenting the audit report can be absorbed within existing
budgeted resources. Providing for the
assessment of civil penalties to the Maine Insurance Guaranty may increase
dedicated revenues to the Workers' Compensation Board beginning in fiscal
year 2006-07. The amount can not be
determined at this time. |
