The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

Beginning
in fiscal year 2006-07, changes in the filing requirements for motor homes
will result in the estimated loss of $109,480 in annual General Fund revenue
collected by the Department of the Secretary of State. In addition, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles
within the department will require a one-time Highway Fund allocation of
$25,632 in fiscal year 2006-07 for the costs of computer programming changes
and necessary training. Finally,
beginning in fiscal year 2006-07, the bureau will be collecting an estimated
$17,250 in annual filing fee revenue for the Highway Fund. |
