This
legislation will increase dedicated revenue to the Maine Hazardous Waste Fund
within the Department of Environmental Protection by $391,225 in fiscal year
2006-07 and $414,950 annually thereafter.
The projected revenue is derived from increased fees for the transport
and disposal of hazardous waste and a proposed new fee for the registration
of biomedical waste generators excluding municipal and school
facilities. The additional
requirements of this legislation will be carried out with existing staff and
resources and no additional allocations are needed at this time. |
