This
bill will increase dedicated revenue to the Maine Hazardous Waste Fund within
the Department of Environmental Protection by $394,725 in fiscal year 2006-07
and $418,450 annually thereafter. The
projected revenue is derived from increased fees for the transport and
disposal of hazardous waste and a proposed new fee for the registration of
biomedical waste generators. The
additional requirements of this legislation will be carried out with existing
staff and resources and no additional allocations are needed at this time. |
