The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

This
bill includes additional General Fund appropriations in the amounts of
$38,444 and $124,681 in fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively, for
the Department of Marine Resources to be used for four additional
Conservation Aide positions to conduct water monitoring. To more accurately reflect the proper
distribution of seasonal costs by fiscal year, the bill should be amended to
increase the fiscal year 2005-06 Personal Services appropriation from $22,291
to $37,152 for a new total appropriation of $53,305 in fiscal year 2005-06
and to reduce the fiscal year 2006-07 Personal Services appropriation from
$95,501 to $61,555 for a new total appropriation in that year of $90,735. |
