The Maine Criminal Justice Academy program within the Department of Public Safety will require a one-time General Fund appropriation of $30,000 in fiscal year 2006-07 to develop an electronic training module necessary for law enforcement training pertaining to people with autism and developmental disabilities.
The additional costs associated with the continuing legal education requirement for prosecutors can be absorbed by the Department of the Attorney General utilizing existing budgeted resources.
