This
legislation abolishes the Maine Indian Tribal-State Commission and creates in
its place the Intergovernmental Tribal-State Board, which represents an
increase of five members. Assuming
the new board meets as often as the previous board, this legislation may
result in an increase in the cost of per diems, travel reimbursement and food
for meetings of approximately $16,730 annually. Since the new board has the authority to spend less on its
Executive Director and meet less often, the exact financial impact of this
legislation can not be determined at this time. |
