The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

Fiscal Detail
and Notes |
The
requirement that certified pesticide applicators must provide detailed
information on each pesticide application to the Pesticides Control Board
within the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources and that the
board, in turn, must make this information easily available to the public
will result in significant additional General Fund costs. The Pesticides Control Board will require
additional General Fund appropriations of $1,711,420 and $1,682,420 in fiscal
years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively, for the costs of employing necessary
seasonal data-entry employees and the costs of database development and
implementation to process an estimated 14,000+ entries per day during the
sring and summer. |
