New or Expanded Activity Unit Affected Costs
Requiring school administrative units to perform two bi-weekly checks of the overall grade average of certain minor students whose average has fallen below a C- to determine if the student's average grade has risen to a least a C- so that the student may return to normal working conditions is a mandate.  The statewide cost could be significant.  If the intent is to have the schools analyze and record information from the incoming time books of employers, the costs would increase. School Significant
Fiscal Detail and Notes
This bill will require the revision of the Child Labor poster by the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Standards.  A General Fund appropriation of $13,000 is fiscal year 2005-06 is required for printing and mailing costs.  If other bills are enacted that also require changes to this poster, the cost properly allocated to this bill can be reduced.
The bill should be amended to clarify the intended use of the employer-supplied time books by the schools.
