Fiscal Detail
and Notes |

|
|
|
This
legislation would impose a 30 cent fee on each unit of general use pesticide
distributed for retail sale in this state.
The revenue generated from this fee would be deposited in the Maine
Solid Waste Management Fund within the Department of Environmental Protection
and is projected to be approximately $50,000 in fiscal year 2005-06 and
$198,000 in fiscal year 2006-07.
These funds would require an allocation to the Maine Solid Waste Fund
and would be used to assist public and private schools with the safe removal
and disposal of hazardous materials. |
