Requiring
that county sheriffs' departments enter into call-sharing agreements with the
State Police is a modification of activity that could have significant
additional costs for the counties. The
amount of cost will depend on the circumstances of the call-sharing
agreements reached with each county sheriff's department and can not be
determined at this time. Adding the
Mandate Preamble to the bill exempts the state from the obligation to pay at
least 90% of subsequent municipal costs. |

|
Requiring
the State Police and county sheriffs' departments to develop call-sharing
agreements to cover each county may increase State Police costs to the
General Fund and Highway Fund. Any
increased costs will depend on the call-sharing agreement that is reached
with each county and can not be determined at this time. |
